UNRAVEL THE CODE
IDENTITY AND EXHIBITION GRAPHICS DESIGN
Unravel the Code showcases the final projects of students in the state-of-the-art, interdisciplinary course by the same name at the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA). Exhibition branding for the show included a typographic identity, poster design announcing the show, brochures an notepads, and labels for the show, and integrating the existing gallery walls within the identity.
Taught by Annet Couwenberg and Ryan Hoover, the students draw on traditional crafts to explore emerging technologies of making. They pair weaving with digital algorithms, origami with parametric laser cutting, and handwork with the cybernetic systems of control to produce innovative products, processes, and prototypes.
